Leadership Experience

John Paul II Assistant Tennis Coach: Trained middle school and high school tennis players at John Paul II High School in Plano, Texas in after school program. instructed 6-12 players for 2.5 hours 3 times each week. Coached technical skills and after class high performance training. Attended players tournaments on the weekends.

Hospital/Crisis Sexual Assault Trainer/Advocate: Assisted training meetings for new advocates of The Turning Point Rape Crisis Center in Plano, Texas. Ensured advocates learned hosiptal call protocol, calling officers and child protection services, dispatching other advocates/SANE nurses to hospital calls, and answering the Rape Crisis Hotline.

Lab Associate School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences: Trained students in lab experiments with research mice, including apparatus assembly, rat handling, and computer programs. Oversaw operation of experiments including shock induction and reinforcement on rats to record effects of PTSD. Presented work weekly at meetings with students and faculty.

Tournament Food Coordinator/Café Manager at Forney Sports Center: Responsible for training 10 plus employee's in work practices, protocol, and hygenic procedures involved in operating a café. Oversaw performance during tournaments and league play of the café and improved efficiency of employees and café operations.

Texas Biomedical Device Center: Research assistant for Texas Biomedical Device Center. Effects of Vagus Nerve stimulation on plasticity for extinction using lab rats. Recorded actions of footshcok, auditory fear conditioning, and aversion. Lab research collected by Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. 8 hrs/wk. 288 hrs.

Textbook Publication: Human Sexuality textbook research assitant. Secondary research on scholarly writings of human sexuality, anatomy, theory & perspectives, and coercion. Met biweekly with professor topresent findings faculty and publishers. Research is published in college textbook. 8 hrs/wk. 192 hrs as of 2/9/18.

The Turning Point Rape Crisis Center Hospital/Crisis Sexual Assault Advocate: Hospital/crisis intervention for victims of sexual violence. 24 hr,7 day/wk support during forensic rape exams in ER & safety planning/serving as liaison between survior, officers, child protective services, & nurses. Support to callers affected by sexual assault. 48 hr/month. 1056 hrs as of 2/9/18.

Shadowing Dr. Quyen Dang OBGYN Womens Specialists of Plano: Observed clinical treatment, surgical procedures, patient care, and obstetrics process. Discussed health conditions and pathologies of patients with doctor. Practiced patient care and empathy. Observed both OB patients and general OBGYN patients. 8 hrs/wk. 40 hrs as of 2/9/18.
