Born and raised on the Southside of Chicago, my passion is rooted in creating more equitable and sustainable communities across the city through revitalization, care, and civic engagement. Through my hard work in the restaurant business and now currently an innovative and dynamic cooking class assistant, I've become a force in handling any situation at hand.   • At Naveen's, we host private and public cooking classes for groups and various events. Our kitchen is efficiently used as both an entertaining and educational space for team collaborating activities and any special occasions.
  • We are actively working with highschool students across the city, primarily from disinvested neighborhoods, through our collaboration with Embarc- an incredible organization founded by two teachers from Chicago’s Southside who break down barriers in our education system to create a more just and equitable society. They do this by providing schools, communities, and young people with all the tools they need to transform how schools integrate social-emotional development and experimental learning. At Naveen's, we help teens cultivate the skills to learn how to prepare a fresh and healthy meal which is key exposure to them learning how to be independent and self-reliant.


As the lead assistant to Chef Naveen I have:

Accomplishments

Was apart of the first cohort of interns to work with the Illinois Housing Council (IHC) in their Emerging Leader Summer program from May 2023 until August 2023. I had the amazing experience of learning directly from Veronica Gonzalez, a Regional Director of Development at the NHP Foundation, where I learned first hand about affordable housing development processes from the real estate development phase, property management, resident services, and even construction management.


I worked closely with her on a variety of projects and developments, most closely with the Covent Apartments located in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood- serving as an affordable housing development that opened in October of 2023. This experience amplified my drive to create more just cities by being an advocate for more affordable housing and also vastly increased my knowledge on housing and building development overall.
