Assistant Director Of Nursing (ADON)
- Educating/treating patients about their medical, psychiatric, chemical dependency, substance use disorder, addiction recovery, mental health, and behavioral health treatments.
- Functions as the role of Director of Nursing during NOC shift and when DON is absent.
- Responsible for 28 RNs/LPNS at two separate facilities
- Caring for and educating patients about their medical and psychiatric conditions; establishing trust and building rapport with patients and their families
- Key elements of this position are supervising the day-to-day management of the Nursing Department.
- Reviewed daily documentation of dispensing of controlled substances, immediately noting discrepancies from shift to shift.
- Conducted recruitment and retention activities to develop highly skilled nursing team.
- Recruited, hired and trained new medical and facility staff.
- Admission and discharge audits.
- Responsible for maintaining the daily scheduling of units according to approved ratios based on census and finding coverage for call outs.
- Resolve pending issues from the previous shift, e.g., missed or incomplete labs or treatments, incomplete admissions or discharges, missing data for continuity of care.
- Making sure both facilities are compliant with State and Federal regulations.
- Facilitated and ran mock code blue drills.
