In my current role as the Business Development Consultant I have the following responsibilities:

  • Reviewing client referral documents and make informed decisions regarding whether they are eligible for programs offered.
  • Conducting interviews with current and new clients to discuss the supports required to meet the client's needs. Once services have been identified; conducting team meeting to develop a customized care plan that best suits the required supports, resulting in client satisfaction and independence.
  • Identifying current openings that are a good fit for the current and new clients who will be living together.
  • Identifying new housing opportunities by working with investors.
  • Submitting funding requests to Case Manager and Care Coordinators for authorizations and securing the official placement identified. In addition, ensuring all authorizations are accurate with the correct information and requests to provide services.
  • Creating and presenting training material to team members working with client.
  • Following up with the team frequently to ensure a smooth transition for 45 days to assess additional needs and develop improvement plans. In addition, client concerns and appropriate changes will be addressed.
  • Guide client's team by proactively mentoring and developing staff on an individualized basis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review internal processes to improve our departments efficiency, challenges, new business opportunities, and present success stories when onboarding new clients.
  • Manage several current and new clients at once using strong prioritization and multitasking abilities.

Direct Support Supervisor

In my role as a Direct Support Supervisor I had the following responsibilities:

  • Over sight of HCBS Waiver services for individuals with intellectual and mental disabilities, ensuring all authorizations are up to date by checking the appropriate portal regularly, and conducting meetings held with the client and their team to update client services, care plan, address concerns, and make appropriate changes to care plan.
  • Building a strong rapport with clients, guardians, stakeholders to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Identifying if and when new challenges, barriers, or behaviors are present, and providing the Team Lead and Direct Care staff with the appropriate support and training as needed.
  • Collaborating with the team to promote, plan and organize a positive productive working environment. Providing 1:1 support with each employee on an individualized basis.
  • Managing payroll for employees.
  • Identifying, investigating, and resolving issues with hours worked.
  • Onboarding of new hires, coordinating their training, and developing a schedule with them.
  • Completing all staffing schedules, changes, and arrangements.
  • Accounts Payable: Ensuring all invoices are sent to the home office in a timely fashion, following up on any past due invoice, and working with the accounts payable department to ensure past due invoices are paid.
  • Billing: Billing for member services and ensuring all billing is correct for days member is present in the home identifying which days are non-billable. In addition, checking the appropriate portals to ensure all authorizations are up to date to secure client services.
  • Utilizing technology and working with multiple programs such as: Microsoft Office- Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and Powerpoint. (When I find I am unsure of how to do something on either of these programs, I will research to trouble shoot prior to asking for help) Some of my technology related job responsibilities are, but not limited to: Checking email on a regular basis, developing meeting notes and charts for staff, conducting meetings via Teams and Zoom, and creating basic spread sheets with excel.
