Ashley Kopel

I am currently an infant teacher at Kidspoint downtown. I help provide a fun, nurturing, and safe environment for the infants to learn and play. I love what I do, however, I am ready to try something new and branch out from childcare.

• I was an infant teacher at Downtown Kindercare for a year and a half.
• Aside from basic care such as bottles, diapers naps, we plan curriculum for the kids. We implement the curriculum by doing a daily activity, book, and song that all corelate with eachother, along with the curriculum theme for the month.
• We show evidence of learning by taking pictures of them doing activities to put on display and to send to the parents on the app
• I built very strong relationships with many of the families at the center.

• At St James we ensured that the children get to and from school safely
• I maintained a clean environment by regularly sanitizing toys/surfaces and encouraging kids to clean up after themselves
• Create a fun, yet safe environment for children ranging from 5-11 years of age while collaborating with 7 other caregivers
• Communicate with parents to learn individual child's needs and let them know how their child is doing
• Create strong and loving relationships with each child and family.

• At the Iowa City Parks and Rec, I taught a variety of childrens youth sport classes and worked birthday parties.
• I taught dance to ages 5-8
• I also taught tumbling to ages 3-6
• Lastly, I taught volleyball to age group 10-12
• Teaching these classes provided me with a different type of teaching and leadership experience
• Aside from classes, I also worked birthday parties. I set up decoration, tables, chairs, and bounce houses. I greet every party with a friendly welcome and let them know I am here to help. While the party took place I was present for supervision and any needs they may have. After the party was over I tore down and got everything put away.
