Work History
Registered Nurse
Ogden Regional Medical Center
Ogden
3 years working as a Bachelors in Business Science at Ogden Regional. I was in the Behavioral Health Unit the most but did transfer to the Medical and surgical unit for a few months, but I loved the BHU, so I stayed there where I felt I could help the most at that time in my life. I became a Charge Nurse of the Behavioral Health Unit soon after I started working there. I was a big part of the treatment team there at the unit. I got to be the nurse that could speak up from the nurse’s point of view on how the patients were doing. I worked closely daily with the psychiatrist, recreational therapist, and the social workers to all collaborate and see how each patient was doing from each point of view. This collaboration as a team put the patients care as number 1. Another job as the charge nurse was to ensure that each person on the team felt safe if there was a code BERT. I would delegate jobs for each staff member to do during the intense moments of a code BERT, and I was able to do it very calmly because I made sure to create a team that we could all rely on. Another job I had was to make sure that things were happening for our patients including the groups that helped them process trauma, and how to learn coping skills to live life with the trauma they had to live with. I really enjoyed seeing the progress and the confidence I saw in each patient’s life as they went to groups and really embraced the help. got to be the voice of each patient by telling the doctors and the other parts of the treatment team who were working with each patient and what needed some improvement. I loved my time there at Ogden Regional Medical Center.
