While volunteer working at Memorial Hospital West Rehab, I helped patients with moving and transferring into/out of wheelchairs and off therapy machines. I assisted the physical therapists by holding the patients during the procedures, passing out pillows, and making sure all of the supplies were available and well stocked. I also helped teach group stretching classes which helped the patients become more active and improve their flexibility. Along with taking care of the patients, I maintained an orderly and inviting space. By disinfecting workstation and bed areas, I prepared beds to ensure an inviting environment for patients in recovery. My objective was to maintain an orderly and supportive environment that would make the patients feel safe, motivated, and comfortable during their rehabilitation process.
