Take distance and close up photos of damaged vehicle, date stamp and label with a description of each spot
Record full VIN, Year, Make, Model, Body Style and accurate list of equipment on all vehicles
Take photos of license plate, all tires with gauge in tire to show gauge reading, vehicle registration, mileage, dash, etc
Fill out a Scope/Condition/Option form on all HE, RV, cycle, specialty vehicles, whether repairable or total loss and on standard auto if a total loss only
Identify replacement only parts when parts cannot be economically or properly repaired
Identify and consider the use of LKQ, Recon, Aftermarket parts, and/or optional OEM where applicable when a savings can be realized
Suggest and apply betterment or depreciation when applicable unless state requirements suggest otherwise
Recommend appearance allowances when applicable
Identify plastic and vinyl damage repair where practical
Record and report tow and storage charges
Obtain and report agreed price on repairs
If the agreed upon price can't be met, record on appraisal report
Conduct impact height measurements straight on at eye level with Keson Pocket Rod on all inspections that have impact damage
Identify and report old damages in excess of $500 on repairable or total losses (UPD estimate
Take and report tire depth measurements on all total losses
Complete field inspection within 2 days for auto and 3 days for H/E from the time received until completed and uploaded.
