Outpatient Hematology and Transplant Clinic

• Patient Assessment
• Caring for patients at initial diagnosis of hematologic malignancy, through treatment and stem cell transplant
• Administered and monitored IV Chemotherapy, fluids, electrolytes transfusions and other IV treatments
• Completed Septic workup on patients coming in critically ill, as well as initiating IV antibiotics while awaiting admission
• Coordination of Care, including patient's follow ups, treatment appointments, local transfusion support, etc
• Completed patient's necessary paperwork, including disability, FMLA, home health orders
• Excellent team work to provide well-rounded best patient care
• Working closely with CNP and MD's to address patient's symptoms and provide a clear plan for the patient
• Blood draws via venipuncture, IV Placement, CVC, PICC and port access
• Ensured patient safety during visits, using call lights and assistive devices as appropriate

Inpatient Bone Marrow Transplant Unit

• Administered IV chemotherapy and other treatment in preparation for Stem Cell Transplant
• Administered Stem Cell Transplant infusions with 1:1 monitoring throughout
• Cared for patients over their month + long stay during transplant and after, close monitoring for Graft Versus Host Disease
• Provided skilled and timely response to critically-ill patients.
• Administered transfusion, IV fluid and electrolyte support regularly
• Experience with CVC, ports and PICC lines (blood draws, dressing change and maintenance)
• Experienced in IV Placements
• Septic workup for patients presenting with fever
• Caring for patients readmitted with complications of transplant (GVHD)
• Cared for PCU status patients
• Educated patients and family member on discharge instructions, including home care for CVC
• Evaluated patient histories, complaints, and current symptoms.
