- I have, at the time of writing this, been a substitute for about a month, and I work at two campuses as a sub and a teaching assistant at an after-school care program.
- The students love me. I have recently graduated high school, which shares a campus with one of the elementary schools, and I have helped in classrooms and had my own programs working with kids during my 11th and 12th grade years.
- My current aspirations are to become an elementary teacher, and I'm currently in college for an associate's degree with an undecided major, but I plan on going into a bachelor's program in elementary-level education.
- During my time in the classrooms, I have run the classes with notes and planned schedules left by the full-time teachers, and I have also had to improvise when plans go awry, often.

- In addition to working as a substitute, I was approached by the site coordinator of my local after-school care program (the One Planet), and while working at the One Planet program, I have had more opportunities to see if the teaching field is right for me.
- I have helped conduct activities at the One Planet program that keep the students distracted and happy until their parents can pick them up.

- Not much of a resume-worthy job, but for years in high school, I worked at restaurants, mostly Tozier's, a seafood restaurant in my hometown, and spent countless hours (up to almost 60 in a week) doing dishes, helping with food prep, cleaning, and bussing tables.
- A story that I find myself hesitant to admit is about my first day working at Toziers. I drew the short straw and had to clean feces off the wall of the outdoor restrooms. Since my employment started there, I had to do this again in both the indoor and outdoor restrooms another three times.
- My hard work at Toziers shows that I am willing to do the work no one else wants to do while in pursuit of my paycheck.

- I Received an award for being one of very few ever to graduate the full two year commitment to the Dream Program, a mentoring program that paired high school students with elementary students in the hopes of bringing positive role models to kids that don't have many.
