Ava Mello

A high-achieving student consistently on the Honor Roll, excelling in AP and honors courses. Has a 4.49 GPA and is ranked 14th in the class. Demonstrates leadership and avidly participates in DECA, Student Council, NHS, and other clubs. Engaged in extracurricular activities such as playing field hockey, volunteering, and tutoring. Versatile with intermediate Spanish proficiency, possesses skills in editing, design, and social media management. Adept at problem-solving, communication and collaboration. An accomplished individual that brings a blend of academic excellence, leadership, and diverse skills to any endeavor.

• US Taekwondo Fall River- Helped teach children ranging from 5 to 13 years of age Taekwondo, and not only the technical skills of a martial art but also discipline, teamwork, respect, self control and mental toughness. I took a class on leadership once a week with the Master that ran the local dojangs where I learned patience, the value of hard work, and life skills such as public speaking and budgeting.
• Southcoast Field Hockey- Coached 8 and 9 year old girls in the basics of field hockey, corrected them in a constructive way, showed them how to communicate and work as a team, and encouraged them to be resilient and try their best
• A Walk to End Alzheimer's- Donated my time setting up, helping run, and cleaning up their annual 5k walk where people donate money to find a cure for Alzheimer's. While their, I had the opportunity to work very closely with the man that runs the Massachusetts events and we plan on collaborating again in the future.
