Summer Camp Counselor

In the summer of 2015, I became a volunteer camp counselor for the BMYD children's summer camp. I assisted teachers with a classroom size ranging from 25 to 35 campers. Leadership, character, education, teamwork, respect, health, and wellness were the emphasis throughout the camp. I got the opportunity to make sure those emphases were properly being learned. I had the responsibility of making sure each camper followed their daily plans, discussing the child's behavior throughout the camp with their parent or guardian, and leading in several activities throughout the camp. The summer camp was held at Keystone Heights Jr/Sr High School and ended on July 31. I enjoyed my experience at BMYD. It taught me valuable life skills and how to become the perfect role model.
