Summary

I have always had a passion for working with students with special needs. I have found the work deeply is impactful and fulfilling. This fall will mark a decade of teaching students with disabilities. I was awarded Teacher of the Year (23-24) and am currently a special education self-contained teacher at ACBOE-Prattville Primary. I am adept in behavioral disorders and intellectual disabilities. I have extensive ASD experience and am seasoned in nonverbal and verbal communication. I am well-versed in communication systems. Recently, I pursued RBT certification to better serve students with cognitive and behavioral disabilities to better support development across diverse learning environments. I have years of experience implementing IEPs and BIPs, significantly improving student abilities and achievement. I specialized in behavioral disorders and ASD in graduate school. I am trained in deescalation and slow simulation/sensory instruction.
