About Me

I enjoyed my teaching career in the Mountain View School District, and I have also enjoyed these past six years of retirement. I've done lots of traveling, and have gotten involved in animal rescue.

I have been volunteering as a cat foster for Priceless Pets Rescue ever since I first retired, and my husband and I have taken in hundreds of cats and kittens through the years, gotten them healthy, and sent them on to their adoptive homes.

Sewing is one of my favorite hobbies, and I've learned how to make many items that are useful for animal rescue. I have sewn hundreds of hammocks, pouches, and other items and then donated them to animal rescues across the U.S. and Canada.

Wildlife rehab has especially touched my heart, and I have met several local wildlife rehabbers who I support with these donations and also by helping on-site with their animals.

But now I find myself ready to get back to school. I'd love to come support the teachers as a prep aide, or in another position as you see fit. I was very organized and efficient as a teacher, and would enjoy getting things ready for the students and just being in the school environment again.

Thank you for your consideration. I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Skills

I am seeking a position as prep aide, or another paraprofessional position in the Mountain View School District. Having been a teacher for 30 years, I know the value of these support positions, and would be delighted to serve again in this part-time role. Of course, a wide variety of skills were necessary to be a successful educator, but I feel as though my organizational skills were a real benefit then, and would be again now in one of these positions. I had a bit of a reputation for having a "self-filing" file cabinet and for being planned months ahead of time. Neither of which was far from the truth.
