Accomplishments

My last position with Good Neighbors Home Repair was my dream job. I love planning successful events that are appreciated by guests and also meet our goals. Good Neighbors is a faith based nonprofit that provides critical home repairs for low income homeowners at no cost to them. I was able to add a few new events that were well received.

Examples:

Contractor breakfast to help area contractors find a way to "plug in" to our mission,

Friend-raiser-Boots and Barbeque-to expose GN to possible volunteers and donors. Very well received and we made a profit even thought that wasn't one of our goals.

Christmas party and Family picnics for staff and board to get to know each other better making it easier to share ideas.

Gala- the yearly fundraising gala has made more money to serve our mission each year under my direction.

Hands of Hope- corporate volunteer workweek. I expanded that from half day volunteer opportunities to full day with a GN Lunch and Learn to share our mission with volunteers.

I worked closely with our media person to create the materials we needed to share our story. I also took over the volunteer assignments from someone who was overworked.

My job was eliminated because the board decided that GN would be better off having smaller in home gatherings to encourage donations instead of events. With the changing availability of government grants, they wanted to prioritize larger donations from individuals.
