  • Responsible for troubleshooting data transfer failures on the following applications: Connect Direct (CD), IBM Sterling File Gateway (SFG), B2B Sterling Integrator, and OPTX. Connect Direct runs on 1600 Linux servers, 10 Windows servers, and the IBM (OS/Z) platform.
  • Investigate daily incident tickets on failed Connect Direct and SFG file transfers.
  • Worked with external clients and internal application developers on setting up new file transfer(s) or troubleshooting file transfer issues.
  • Install Connect Direct on Linux servers and Windows servers.
  • Worked on a night support rotation schedule with other members of the Data File Transfer team on after-hours data transfer issues.
  • Assist application users and external clients with issues related to either their SFG user accounts or missing files.
  • Contractor to Truist Bank

Senior Analyst application support

Infosys Limited
Raleigh
08.2021 - 10.2023
  • Contractor to Truist Bank

Senior Production System Analyst

Société Générale
Jersey City
02.1996 - 10.2019
  • Investigated and monitored over 5500 batch jobs on three Autosys scheduler platforms. Provide 24/7 production support. Also manage various file transfer applications.
  • Managed support on 61 file transfer application servers, performing updates or patch fixes to various file transfer applications.
  • Troubleshoot alert notifications for either file transfer issues, file transfer applications, or servers.
  • Supported users in America and Europe with their file transfer requests and/or file transfer issues.
  • Implemented a file transfer process that extracts file(s) from a source location and transfers them to the end user destination, utilizing a method I created that runs in the Autosys scheduler.
  • Lead a project to set up and migrate file transfers from less secure FTP servers to new, enhanced FTP servers that had IBM Sterling Secure Proxy (SSP) and Sterling and Sterling External Authentication Server (SEAS). The migration to the new server's platform enhanced authentication and migrated all transfers from FTP to SFTP, which secures the transferred data.
  • Created a Connect Direct process that provided local file transfers to an external client, utilizing the Autosys scheduler. This eliminates the need to set up the Connect Direct application on multiple application servers, thereby saving the cost of Connect Direct licenses.
  • Provide file transfer production support to end users in three regions: Europe, Asia, and the U.S, managing their requests or incident issues.
  • Done IBM Connect Direct installation on Windows servers.
  • Created a process that encrypts or decrypts a file before its transfer to a destination. This provides a central platform for this type of process, rather than implementing it across multiple platforms.
  • Lead a project to migrate file transfers from a less secure FTP platform to a more secure application, IBM Sterling Secure Proxy (SSP) and Sterling External Authentication Server (SEAS). The migration to a new server platform enhanced authentication and migrated all FTP transfers to SFTP.
  • Implemented and managed a file transfer application called Attachmate Reflection for Secure IT Windows Server and Client that provided SFTP file transfers from any Windows platform.
  • Created a Connect Direct process that provided local file transfers to any Connect Direct clients utilizing the Autosys scheduler. This eliminates the need to set up the Connect Direct application on multiple application servers, thereby saving the cost of the Connect Direct product.
  • Provide Autosys and file transfer production support to end users in three regions: Europe, Asia, and the U.S.
  • Perform IBM Connect Direct installation on Windows servers.

Education

Skills

  • Perl
  • SQL

Accomplishments

  • Collaborate with application support groups to migrate over 2500 Kron jobs from Linux servers to run via the CA Autosys scheduler.
  • A team player works with others to provide support when needed. Collaborated with my counterparts in Paris on implementing or investigating data transfers between our two regions.
  • Implemented a new file transfer application, ATTACHMATE REFLECTION, for Windows data transfers to or from Windows.

Projects

Created a Perl script process that transfers files to internal and external clients or users using either IBM Connect Direct (CD) or Sterling File Gateway (SFG), or Sterling Secure Proxy (SSP). Worked with the application developer on a project that zips thousands of files into a single file and transfers the single zip file, instead of transferring hundreds of individual files. Wrote a Perl script that encrypted a file before transferring it or decrypted an incoming file. Configure file transfer jobs in the Autosys scheduler.
