I applied for the MRA program they provided and went off to Vincennes University for 3 months to study and work through 8 SACA gold and 8 SACA silver assesments and hands on assesments. Through this, I learned mech drives, PLCs, EMC, AC/DC and Pneumatic systems and troubleshootings. I have since applied this to my everyday work at CBRE troubleshooting conveyance/AR equipment at my site. I am currently a maintenance tech 1 with a lot of knowledge and plenty of room to absorb more. As an AR tech I mainly deal with and work on drives, stations, conveyance, metrics.
I currently work in AFM/Floor Health. I work on the AR or Amazon Robotics floor everyday for 10 hours. Our job is to keep the floor clean whether that's picking up amnesty (items that fall onto the floor), fixing disabled or faulted drives (the machine that carries the pods which carries our inventory), or simply taking care of stations. I feel very confident in the work I do here and my ability to do the workload and feel that I can prosper in an even more work heavy environment.
I checked in and checked out anyone who walked through the door. Tended to lanes that needed fixing or were malfunctioning. Cleaning the counters, arcade, and seating areas by the lanes. Returning all of the bowling balls to the racks by the end of the night. Most nights the manager card was given to me due to lack of staffing, therefore I would act as manager giving refunds splitting payments and overall overseeing the desk.
At Tropical, I took orders at the cashier, made smoothies, and prepped food orders. Preparation of items was also done in the back of the housing including but not limited to, chopping up vegetables, chicken fruit etc for restock or doing dishes. Management was poor and work schedules were inconsistent so my stay was not very long due to that.
