Accomplishments

  • Modified Disaster Recovery procedure for the Pharmacy application at Kaiser and sped up recovery time from 4 hours to 30 minutes.
  • Improved the pharmacy building process to deliver a new implementation of new stores on time, never failing to have available on schedule despite serious barriers.
  • Worked around the clock updating 430 servers to prevent a major reporting failure to the Federal government of critical compliance data.
  • Orchestrated the shutdown during COVID of hundreds of pharmacies and reopening after the crisis eased.
  • Led the modification of Disaster Recovery processes at LACERA by going virtual. This improved the testing from days to hours.
  • Provided superior service to employees and top level executives as a Help Desk Analyst I, and continued to provide senior level support as Tier III escalation.
  • As Messaging Project Leader converted a 2000 plus user mail system from Novell GroupWise to Exchange with Active Directory, allowing both enhanced features for a greatly increased remote user community and smooth integration with a Windows 2000 workstation. This allowed the company to expand by hundreds of remote salespeople generating millions of dollars of income monthly.
  • Worked on a team to deploy a Mirapoint backup mail system for 2700 users in eight locations in the country, to be used in the event of a primary system failure, protecting the company from income loss of millions at the critical end of the month period.
  • Studied, coordinated and personally restored an IBM AS400 from bare metal containing critical loan servicing data for operations and legal departments saving potentially millions in possible losses. This restore saved the company $10,000 in IBM service fees. This was done with no prior knowledge of this system.
  • As Project Leader configured laptops for a newly created remote sales force, based on surveys of what would be needed by such a team and coordinated with the business areas. This assisted in creating a remote sales force several hundreds strong, generating hundreds of millions of dollars of additional revenue monthly.
  • Assembled a team of outside vendors, support personnel and the training department as project lead to diagnose and remedy difficulties end users were having with web-based training courses, permitting legal compliance by staff by enabling completion of required credit, banking and security training.
  • Developed and instructed training classes to new employees in using GroupWise, Outlook and fundamental laptop usage for hundreds of new salespeople. This instruction was the model used later by the training department for new employee orientation for thousands of staff.
