Worked side by side doctors and nurses in providing the care. Served as interpreter to the missions team members
• Hurricane Harvey recovery volunteer, August 2017, September 2017, 30, Volunteer with Lakewood, Second Baptist and Grace Church rebuilding houses and organizing clothes and supplies. Worked with a group from the school and with a group from my mom's work to provide house rebuilding assistance and organization for various families in the Houston community
• Athletic International Missions, June 2015, 60, Part of a team that cared for children from toddlers to teenagers, taught soccer skills, coached games and took care of feeding and providing assistance to the children and their families. Used my fluency in Spanish to serve as an interpreter to my missions team members
• Boy Scouts of America, May 2020, August 2020, Eagle Scout Project - "Clean Hands for Houston" - led a team to build hand washing stations to be placed in homeless communities around Houston. Project provided the means of washing hands to the homeless community during the COVID pandemic. These handwashing stations are still in use today. Wrote project proposal to be presented to and approved by the Board, planned the project, secured donations for the materials needed for the hand washing stations, recruited and directed troop members in the assembly, wrote and submitted project completion report. A second phase of the project consisted of collecting hygiene supplies in our neighborhood to assemble hygiene kits to also be donated to the homeless community.
