  • nCommunicating efficiently and directly with crane operators and crew members to accomplish smooth and efficient rigging evolutions.
  • Documenting deficiencies, as well as elevating potential issues with proper codes, to ensure all rigging evolutions are kept to the standard of P307 and our local Lifting and Handling manual.
  • Participating in Quality assurance audits and inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with P307 and local instructions, TGIS, ERPS,LEHIS, LHAPS ECT.
  • Always assessing risk and ensuring proper safety equipment is used such as fall protection eye protection and appropriate rigging gear. And taking proper precautions and steps to mitigate risk at any turn.
  • Proficient with SUPDESK,ATMS, HITKIT.
  • Mentoring new apprentices and direct hires on proper, and safe rigging techniques topside and in hull.
  • At times working extended hours to meet project deadlines.
  • Proficient in selecting operating and installing correct rigging gear for the job briefed, such as chain falls, ratchets, torque on swivel hoist rings, positioning of beam clamps ect.
  • Determining and calculating size and weights of pieces to account for possible stress to gear, boom deflection, and that anchor points will not be overloaded.
  • Participating in interactive briefs to discuss gear to be used, weights, lessons learned, flow path, safety factors , capacity of hook, rigging points, pucks, foundations ect.
  • Worked at heights and in confined spaces without difficulty.
  • Manufacturing and assembling wire rope slings, Ships force life lines, splicing rope for lifting and handling equipment, updating and inspecting gear routinely.
  • Having been part of many positions in docking and undocking of submarines. Including line handling on cleats and bollards, prep of drydock including casson movements and setting up grip hoists, docking lines, manning headlines, operating capstans, and working with local tugs.

Production Assembler

  • PT transformer assembler From beginning to end, I was involved and versed in every process these transformers were made.
  • Each step was a very rigorous process and product test to ensure it would be the best quality we could create.
  • Sandblasting, Painting, and soldering small electronics and core parts to a transformer.
  • Winding copper wire to create the core of the product and attaching wires to precise areas of the piece.
  • Had to be dead accurate or part would eventually fail.
  • Paying very close attention to detail, Testing units to ensure a quality product.
  • Running very hot molding machines to coat the transformer in rubber - Keeping track of parts, and recording daily output if completed units - Always being aware of environment, looking for safety hazards - making sure proper PPE was being warn and used at appropriate times.
