I am a 17 year old Hispanic boy who aims to go to college, ideally through a pre med track or another such stem track. I enjoy stem subjects such as math and science in school, and outside of school, I enjoy playing soccer and video games with my friends. I also like working and volunteering at my church, usually attending service cleanup events and our homeless ministry. Ideally, I’d like to find an internship focused around biology or pre-med, as these subjects are what I am interested in for my future career.

As a stream service operator, I must be punctual to my post, the church’s streaming room, before 8:30 am so that I can setup the stream before 9:00 am. Aside from being punctual, I need to have an in depth knowledge of my stream software and I must obtain the program schedule beforehand via my pastor or my boss before I can setup the stream. Lastly, I must also have good work etiquette so that the church maintains its good reputation online. This job requires punctuality, communication, work etiquette, and work ethics.

I worked as a counselor for 4 weeks, in which I was tasked with taking care of a group of up to 6 boys each week. Although this is a Christian summer camp, the camp only operates for the starting month of the summer break. In my time working as a counselor, I improved my leadership skills and my communication skills with others.

I have achieved a few accomplishments within my high school career, including…
- Made it to regional competition with my HOSA group, but we were unable to compete afterwards due to the competition conflicting with several other events that my teammates had to attend.
- Made it to BPA states 2 times in a row. This year specifically, we were unable to attend the state competition due to an new policy created by our superintendent, which only allowed a predetermined amount of BPA members to attend.
- I am apart of my schools Neuroscience club, but was unable to compete at the time of the club’s Brain Bee due to the date conflicting with my summer job interview for my camp counselor position
- I am apart of my schools NHS and participate in the club’s service events, such as tutoring.
- Recieved the AP Scholar Award and the AP Hispanic Recognition Award
