I am a 17 year old Korean-American who used to be an introvert, but ironically through the pandemic and quarantine I became more of an extrovert. This was through my consistent volunteering and eventual leadership role at Sungsam Korean Catholic Church. The church had very little people attending due to the COVID pandemic and I volunteered to help set up and make sure Church service went through smoothly every Sunday despite limitations such as wearing masks and having service outside with limited amount of people. It was thanks to the Church community that I was able to become more and more outgoing and outspoken; reaching out to others and listening to more people whilst giving my own ideas and speaking out about certain topics for the improvement of our community. To top it off I would describe myself as someone who is still learning the ropes of being a good leader, that is, being able to balance out being a good speaker and listener and combining those two to make effective decisions that benefit the whole community.
