  • Kenya Rugby Union is the governing body of rugby in Kenya and is an affiliate of World Rugby)
  • As a therapist in KRU I served as a technical bench member for various teams including the National 15s Team and the Kenya Lioness team, where challenges included very short periods of preparations between matches and drawing up plans of execution
  • During the time in which I was charged with physical preparation of the players and I must admit I gallantly performed
  • With the National ladies team I have achieved developing a frame work and protocols of physical preparation in which players now follow
  • I have also come up with affiliation pathways for players ending their careers and have seen many former players transition very well into various leadership positions
  • We managed to qualify for the Rio 2016 Olympics as well as the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games under very strenuous conditions
  • The Gold Coast 2018 commonwealth games in Australia too remain one of the great achievements in the course of my career
  • Worked with the national team during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as the team Physiotherapist and also doubled up as the covid liaison officer.

  • As a rehab assistant I was charged with the responsibility of developing the framework in which the senior residents would follow in keeping with the demands of physical activity
  • I managed to include two days in the week whereby the residents would be involved in group therapy sessions and gentle physical activities
  • We managed to get in a dance teacher too
  • I managed to incorporate targeted assessments and come up with exercise regimens that were tailored to meet the needs of the residents
  • It led to a happier healthier group and they looked forward to Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • I particularly remember a senior resident who had served in the Second World War initially gloomy most of the day and reluctant to take part in the group therapy sessions, eventually becoming very engaged and confiding in me that she felt stronger after the therapy sessions.
