The Recreation Director is responsible for developing and delivering recreation, health/fitness and leisure time programs consistent with the custody & security level of the facility and the prisoner population. Attention must be paid to the special needs as defined in the Americans with Disabilities Act. These activities should work towards the improvement of the prisoner's self-image and teach the values of Sportsmanship, Teamwork and Fair Play. All activities should be directed towards the ultimate rehabilitation and lead to inmates becoming productive citizens. The Recreation Director is expected to complete daily inspections of the recreation area and ensure tools/equipment are clean, serviceable and well maintained. They are also responsible to enter required callout information into prisoner movement system, ordering of equipment and supplies, supervision of athletic department prisoner workers, payroll responsibilities and management of the athletic department budgets . Perform other duties as assigned.
