I began my career in the horse industry working all over the country. Hanson QH in MN, Hodges Cutting horses, Nunley Cutting Horses in GA, Silverbrook Ranches/King Ranch in SC & TX and Sheppard Cutting Horses in AL.
Co ranch mngr in Deming, NM, running yearlings, cow/calf operation.
Hired on with New Mexico Livestock Board in 2001 as a contract deputy. Hired as a full time inspector in April 2003 to present.
I began my career with NMLB as a contract deputy in December 2001. I worked at sale barns, performed inspections, such as cattle, horses, sheep/goats and county fair tag ins. I also worked during brand re-record doing research for new brands. April 2003, I became a full time inspector, with extensive knowledge of the horse and cattle industry. As a long time inspector, have been instrumental in training new inspectors.
Running a yearling and cow/calf operation. Duties included, checking water, feeding, branding, fencing. Also, training horses that were used for ranch work.
After graduation from Meredith Manor, I began working in the show horse industry. I was responsible for all care for show horses,
training, hauling to local and aged events. Scheduling vets and farriers for all horses. Caring for broodmares with colts, starting 2 year olds. Managing and feeding cattle used in cutting horse operations.
I have 40 years experience in the livestock industry, most being with cattle and horses Also, with sheep, goats and pigs I have extensive computer skills and good communication skills
