In my role as a Journeyman Wireman from IBEW Local 24 I have had the opportunity to work in various aspects of electrical work.

  • Retrofitting

In addition to performing the work of a Journeyman Wireman I am certified and have served as a shop steward. In this capacity I ensured the harmony of job sites. I achieved this harmony by running overtime lists fairly, ensured safety was priority, and helped resolve any disputes before they became damaging or a determinate to the moral and cohesion of the jobsite.

In my role as Director I was responsible for the implementation and successful execution of a wide variety of programming and services provided to over 50,000 union members and community's in the Central Maryland area. In ordered to achieve the desired results I worked closely with a wide variety of local unions, local union leadership, community and civic leaders, non-profit organizations, bussines entities, law firms and health care providers. Fostering and building these meaningful relationships enabled AFL-CIO Community Services to revitalize itself and grow exponentially in my tenure.


Programming Successes:


Annual Ernie Grecco Charitable Golf Classic:

  • Implemented the 37th annual in 2022 and increased profits from $20,000 to $40,000 in my first year of running the tournament.
  • My second implementation is on pace to produce nearly $60,000 in profits.
  • Introduced new sponsorship tiers in my second year that not only allowed for more profitability but also included videography for promotions across a vast amount of media platforms


Union Night At Camden Yards:

  • In my first year I branded and promoted the night extensively, selling over 3600 tickets with $3 of every ticket being donated to help fund the programming of Community Services
  • In my second year I renegotiated the contract with the Orioles for better seating and increased their donation from $3 for every ticket sold to $5 for every ticket sold
  • In my second year I increased attendance by nearly 1,000 and with the negotiated $5 donation received over $20,000 in donations from the Baltimore Orioles
  • In my second year I rebranded the night and had Union Night shirts made and sold to raise funds as well as promote and enhance the visibility of Community Services and the AFL-CIO Metro Baltimore Council


Raising the BAR Apprenticeship Readiness Program:

  • Throughout my tenure with Community Services of Central Maryland I Co-Directed the "Raising the BAR Apprenticeship Readiness Program" with the Baltimore and DC Building Trade Unions
  • Raising the BAR has become nationally and locally recognized for empowering and placing those in underserved communities into uplifting and meaningful careers within the building trade union apprenticeships
  • Coordinated and leveraged relationships with local political leaders to attend and promote the programs such as Baltimore City Mayor Brandon M. Scott, Baltimore City Councilman Zeke Cohen, Maryland State Senator Cory McCray, and Baltimore County Councilman Julian Jones.
  • Coordinated, wrote, budgeted and implemented multiple grants to help facilitate programming
  • Branded the program and increased its visibility across a vast amount of media outlets
  • Incorporated video media and interviews for promotions and to increase awareness
  • Successfully placed graduates in a wide variety of trade union apprenticeships such as- Operating Engineers, Electricians, Ironworkers, Sheetmetal, Plumbers and Steamfitters, Insulators, and Laborers.


Annual Holiday Baskets Program:

  • Implemented this annual program and increased the amount of families served from 200 to nearly 300 while also reducing costs of programming
  • Coordinated with dozens of unions and partner organizations to ensure smooth and successful implement
  • Organized and coordinated multiple separate toy drives with our affiliated local unions and partner organizations collecting hundreds of toys for children of families in need
