Work History

Wholesale Distributor

McKee Foods/VE-VE Inc
Detroit
06.2013 - Current
  • Owned, operated, contracted, and managed five transportation distribution routes for McKee Foods at one time, with over ten employees.
  • Directly responsible for the purchasing and inventory management of over 40,000 cases of Little Debbie snack cakes, Sunbelt Bakery products, and Drake's snack cakes per year.
  • Those 40,000 cases resulted in the sales of over 1 million dollars in my distribution territory, per year.
  • My five routes delivered to over 200 retail locations. Those 200 locations included corporate retailers (Kroger, Meijer, Dollar General, Sam's Club, Family Dollar, Save-A-Lot) and non-corporate retailers (independently owned supermarkets, independently owned gas stations, liquor stores, and c-stores) all over the city of Detroit and the surrounding areas.
  • Built strong, long-lasting relationships in both corporate and non-corporate settings. Negotiated sales and display space with retailers. Negotiated price increases and sales incentives for both retailers and distributors.
  • Showed elite problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills when retailers and distributors needed mediation to understand and grow when conflicts arose.
  • Expertly calculated profit margins to ensure that retailers were satisfied, and distributors earned a fair wage.
  • Created and executed innovative ideas for the sales and launch of new products.
  • Gained experience in operating commercial vehicles, including Promasters, Sprinters, and box trucks.

Co-Owner

Snack Depot LLC
Warren
06.2013 - Current
  • Owned and operated a 10,000-square-foot bulk foods retail store with over five employees.
  • Directly responsible for the purchasing and inventory management of at least 3 million dollars' worth of products per year, whereas inventory levels never reached below 500,000 dollars.
  • Sales are averaging 5 million dollars per year during my time as the owner and operator.
  • Built strong, long-lasting relationships and connections with corporate wholesale distributors (Costco, Sam's Club, BJ's Wholesale, Restaurant Depot, Thayer Distribution), as well as locally owned wholesale distributors (Intrastate Distributors Inc., Capital Sales Company, Tradewell Distributors, etc.).
  • Worked closely with advertising agencies, starred in commercials, and appeared on local news and radio stations to promote and grow my business.
  • I represented my business at the sweets and snacks candy expo for multiple years to build relationships with different companies, gain information, and ensure my store had new, exciting, and wide varieties of products for my customers to enjoy.
  • Showed incredible time management and delegation skills during intense and stress-filled periods during business hours.
  • Directly responsible for the price management and profit margin calculations of over 10,000 different products to ensure competitive pricing that satisfied my customers, while also ensuring exponential profit gains.
  • Expertly used and trained employees to use commercial equipment (forklifts, power jacks, hand jacks, loading docks, etc.) In an effective and efficient manner, to ensure the safety of both employees, delivery drivers, and customers.
  • Developed innovative ideas for new product displays and created shelf space for hot-selling items to utilize every inch of the store in an efficient and profit-maximizing manner.
  • I show tremendous leadership skills in the workplace. I lead by example. I literally do anything that is necessary and required. No job is too big (high-level accounting, lifting extremely heavy boxes and products, disciplining employees when needed, etc.). or too small (maintaining a sanitary retail space, taking out the trash, working the register, stocking shelves, gathering carts from the parking lot, etc.). etc. etc.) If I'm not willing to do it, why would I expect anyone else to do it for me? It creates a tremendous amount of respect, accountability, and drive for the entire workplace, top to bottom.
