Bob Glissmann

Omaha,NE

Summary

I have always enjoyed working on a team and accomplishing things. For many years, I led a team of newspaper reporters and helped put out a print and online product. I tried to create a pleasant workplace while still getting the most out of my folks. If I couldn’t find someone to take on a task, I’d do the job myself. I’m a detail-oriented person who wants to create the best product in the time that’s available.

I also wrote stories when I couldn’t find anyone to do them and wrote headlines and posted stories on the Omaha.com website. I helped plan what would be in the paper every day and budgeted stories for the Sunday papers, which is where we tried to put our best work. Throughout my time on the desk, I occasionally took on reporting roles.

Previously, I covered crime, public safety issues and the Omaha Public Schools. When I covered OPS, I was a “team leader,” which meant I wrote stories and edited education stories written by others on the team. I also edited our news columnists both when I was an editor and when I was a reporter.

News Copy Editor
