I have always enjoyed working on a team and accomplishing things. For many years, I led a team of newspaper reporters and helped put out a print and online product. I tried to create a pleasant workplace while still getting the most out of my folks. If I couldn’t find someone to take on a task, I’d do the job myself. I’m a detail-oriented person who wants to create the best product in the time that’s available.
When I worked on the copy desk, we were the last eyes on stories. We also wrote headlines and laid out the paper and trimmed stories to fit the space on the page. We then proofed printouts and made any necessary fixes.
I am a picky person who is easily bored I’m good at juggling several things at once I am happiest when I can help my people do their best work Errors drive me nuts, but if something is messed up, I fix it
I serve as chairman of the Board of Elders at Pacific Hills Lutheran Church in Omaha and on the church’s Board of Directors. I have taught Sunday school to middle school and high school students at church for about 18 years. I also coached youth soccer at the YMCA for six years (spring and fall seasons) while our youngest son was playing.
