
In 2004 I began working at the number 1 Trauma Hospital in the area in 2011 I obtained my certification through CBSPD and has kept it current. Throughout my years I have always received a very satisfactory/ exceeding expectation review at the year end employee performance evaluation.
•Receive and decontaminate used instruments from the main Operating Room, Labor & Delivery and other specialty departments throughout the Hospital.
•Reprocess Instrument trays acccording to preference card /pick sheet.
•Run daily washer and cart wash test.
•Run bowie dick and leak test on Steam Sterilizers.
•Sterilize instruments according to the manufactures standards.
•Documentation of loads in SPM assuring all parameters were met for sterilization
•Wrap Trays, put trays in Aesculap Containers or Pods as needed.
•Working along with Endoscopy Techs ensuring Bronchoscopes, Gastroscopes, Colonoscopes, Pediatric Bronchoscopes are cleaned by means of high level disinfection and turned over in a timely manner.
• Pulling Case Carts according to pick sheet/Preference card.
•Storing trays in appropriate area
•Anwering phone, communicating with O.R Staff and Vendors in a professional manner
•Monitoring chemical usage in the decontamination area
•Communicating and being a team player
•Wearing appropriate PPE
My job description is the same as the previous SPD position ( I am a flexi employee at this facility)

Proper Steam or Sterrad Sterilization according to manufactures guidelines, accurate documentation of sterilized loads in SPM, running Bowie Dicks to assure proper air removal is accomplished during the sterilization cycles and proper cleaning of contaminated instruments Pulling Case Carts according to Pick sheet/Preference Cards, reading biological spores, cleaning Scopes wearing proper PPE
In 2011 I received and has maintained my SPD certification through the Certification Board of Sterile Procesing and Distribution.
