* My goal was to finish my career in a stress free job driving a delivery truck and visiting my former customers for 5 years retiring in 2017.

*The month after I retired in April 2017 my wife and I departed from Sydney on a 51 day cruise around the World.

* Left when I was offered a sales job at Washington Floral Service in Tacoma, Wa in 1994

• Oversaw daily shipping operations to ensure timely delivery of floral products.
• Prepared shipping documents and invoices, processed payments, and fielded client questions.
• Maintained positive relationships with representatives of UPS, FedEX, USPS, and DHL shipping companies.
• Negotiated favorable freight rates with carriers, leading to reduced transportation costs.
• Lead team of 4 employees packaging, palletizing and shipping up to 120 boxes per day.
• Started as a Clerk in the shipping department and over the next 10 years worked my way up to Shipping Department Manager.
• In 1984 a competitor of ours offered me a job managing their shipping department and doing Sales. I accepted their offer.
• Purchasing Agent for Western Floral Greens and Florida Floral Greens.

• Delivered floral arrangements to clients, ensuring timely and accurate service.
• Managed delivery routes efficiently, maximizing time and fuel resources.
• Maintained vehicle cleanliness and functionality for optimal performance.
• Collaborated with team members to coordinate special event deliveries.
• Left to start working at David L Jones Wholesale Florist. A Teamster Local 117 Union Job with a starting wage of $4.75 an hour. I was making big time money now!!!
• I I would be working in the shipping department and doing sales.

Started working at Mac's after school when I was in the 9th Grade and worked there for about 5 years.

This was a small corner grocery store with just me and the owner who ran a butcher shop in the back.

Added Side Note: When I was 15 years old I was held up by a gun man who pointed his rifle at my forehead and told me "You know what I want"! I did and emptied the cash drawer in a paper bag and then he ran out the door.

I left employment there to go to work at Neilsen Florist where the wage was .50 cents more an hour at $2.50.
