Work History

Part Time Minister

Holmesville Church of Christ
Holmesville, OH
01.2023 - Current
  • I currently give sermons biweekly, as well as teach a leadership class to men on a biweekly basis. I work with the board and an outreach committee team in order to reach out and grow the church, both spiritually and numerically. Goals for my ministry are to teach doctrinally sound messages, with a focus on encouragement. I am a visionary and set lofty goals that I am aware will not all be reached, but I also do not want to limit God. Members can expect to hear the Truth, be challenged, and learn to understand that they are vital to the success of the Church.

Deacon/Sunday School Teacher

Nashville/Blachleyville Church of Christ Churches
Nashville And Blachleyville, OH
01.2009 - 12.2022
  • Technically, I was a deacon at Blachleyville during 2009 and at Nashville in 2013-2014. During the time at Blachleyville, I was a board member as a deacon and served communion, but there was nothing else required of me other than to make board decisions. I left the congregation in search for a stronger biblically based congregation. Upon arriving in Nashville, I found a home and was able to serve communion before becoming a deacon. Then, when I became a deacon, the congregation had a strong system to meet the church's needs. Each deacon, including myself, was given ten families to care for. There is an elder that oversees each deacon, but each deacon is responsible for meeting needs. The deacon can contact the elder if they need any help. I found myself in a situation where I could accomplish God's will and moved into another stage of growth in my Christianity. I then heard the call back into ministry and answered the call by attending Johnson University. I did one class at a time and earned my degree in congregational ministry (Bachelor of Science). During my ten years of college, I transitioned into teaching the middle school Sunday school class from 2017 to 2022. A main theme of the class was the salvation plan, as the youth were reaching the age of accountability.

Senior Minister

Brinkhaven Church of Christ
Brinkhaven , OH
07.2001 - 07.2002
  • I served as the sole minister, preaching every Sunday, and running a youth program on Wednesday nights. This was before I went to college. Curiosity got a hold of me, and I learned valuable lessons on interacting with people and the value of education. Serving solely on my experience growing up in ministry, I gained a new appreciation for Christian work. I left the position on the terms of needing a full-time job and understanding I had some learning to do. Ministry remained in the back of my mind, as I sought out to do God's will on His terms.

Growing up in Ministry

Father, Grandfather, Great uncle, Older cousin
Wabash In And Nashville, OH
03.1977 - 06.1996
  • I grew up in two congregations: Dora Christian Church and Nashville Church of Christ. In addition, I was influenced by the Loundonville Christian Church (grandfather), Roann Christian Church (great uncle), and the Grove City Church of Christ (cousin). I have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly when it comes to ministry. Learning how to deal with difficult people and messy situations, I have also learned how to maximize the potential of people and how to move forward without a solution when need be. I have learned to give people the benefit of the doubt, while being able to keep a necessary guard up for protection of myself, family, and ministry.
  • Growing up, I was active in multiple youth groups. For two years, I participated in Bible Bowl competitions. Finally, my senior year of high school, I was the president of the Christian student fellowship club.
