  • Routine head counts to make sure no inmates escaped, Accountability census to make sure the inmates go where they are supposed to go when they are supposed to go there, type an incident report if an inmate is found to be doing something that is not authorized or illegal, walk the compound on foot and make sure all gates and doors are locked and the perimeter fence has not been tampered with, currently trained and certified in CPR and basic first aid, scan outgoing mail and make sure no contraband is coming in or out of the institution, respond to emergencies on the yard, cell searches to make sure that no inmate has anything in their cell they are not authorized to have, routine pat searches of inmates to make sure they are not carrying any contraband or weapons on their person, searches of common areas in the housing units to make sure that no inmate was hiding something they are not supposed to have, do scheduled rounds in the housing units to make sure that nobody is doing anything they aren’t supposed to be doing, make sure the civil rights of the inmates are being protected, respond to body alarms and calls for assistance on the yard, after an incident has happened I lock down the place where it happened to keep the scene preserved and then I would start to question the inmates around the area and get information, made sure all the keys were accounted for in the housing unit I was working in, had accountability for the equipment that is kept in the housing unit I was working in, When I was control officer #2 I was responsible for filling out a key accountability form noting that all keys were accounted for.

  • Responsible for the machinery and pumps upkeep and the cleanliness of 2 Main Machinery Room and 2 Reactor Auxiliaries Room on the USS George Washington CVN-73, I was responsible for doing corrective maintenance on the broken and malfunctioning machinery and valves that turned the shaft and made the propellers spin, I was responsible for the preventative maintenance on the machinery that was in working order to make sure they stayed in working order, standing watch in the main feed pump room taking logs and making sure that there were no issues in 2 Reactor Auxiliaries Room, I was responsible for taking lube oil samples on the shafts in the shaft alleys to make sure the oil was still in good quality and there was no sediment build up, I did propulsion plant drills in 2 Main Machinery Room and 2 Reactor Auxiliaries Room to make sure that I knew what to do when issues did arise, I was responsible for going to PowerPoint trainings that showed us different things regarding the job
