Provides a safe, orderly, and expeditious flow of air traffic at an up-down level 5 air traffic control facility with complexity ranging from varying runways configurations, three controlled airspaces within 8 NM of one another, and active military installation traffic mixed with regional and general aviation traffic.
Performs supervisory duties as a Controller-in-Charge (CIC) in the absence of the Operations Supervisor Determines the interval to be used between successive approaching and departing aircraft considering all aspects of the air traffic control situation such as weather, runway in use, radar availability, navigational aid in use or
other factors that may affect operations
Applies aircraft navigation by utilizing various navigational aid monitoring systems, such as ILS, TACAN, RNAV/GPS, ASR, etc
Issues vectors and altitude assignments to Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) aircraft conducting instrument approaches These approaches can be conducted from the flight levels and incorporate arcing and/or timed procedures
Coordinates with various military and civilian air traffic facilities in regards to movement of inbound and outbound traffic
Provides radar control to aircraft arriving or departing the primary airport and adjacent airports, and to aircraft transiting the facility's airspace
Provides flight data information, ground taxi movements, and appropriate tower control to military, regional, and general aviation aircraft in Class Charlie airspace
Provides air traffic advisory services to pilots including clearances to operate aircraft, weather and field conditions, and safety/traffic alerts
Proficiently operates STARS Fusion with other STARS equipped facilities and non-STARS equipped facilities
