Work History

Student Research

CHOP-RISES Internship Program
Philadelphia, PA
06.2025 - 08.2025
  • Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) CHAMP 3D Lab, I co-developed an accurate renal biopsy phantom to provide a risk-free simulation environment for radiologists and nephrologists. I managed the end-to-end production pipeline, utilizing Materialize Mimics for the precise segmentation of patient MRI scans and 3-Matic for advanced 3D surface modeling and tumor placement. By leveraging GrabCAD for additive manufacturing and experimenting with silicone-based tissue mimics, I successfully optimized the model to eliminate acoustic dropout. This work directly improved ultrasound imaging clarity for needle-guided procedures and was validated through expert clinical evaluations of its functional learning objectives.
  • Presented research findings at academic conferences, enhancing the visibility of projects.
  • Developed strong problem-solving skills through troubleshooting experimental challenges as they arose during the research process.
  • Awarded the CHOP-RISES III Best Poster Award.

Student Researcher

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) Research Institute
Philadelphia, PA
06.2024 - 08.2024
  • Collaborated on a multi-center retrospective cohort study at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) Research Institute involving 15 clinical sites across the United States. My primary responsibilities included extensive review of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) to collect and manage data on treatment duration, cycle counts, and clinical outcomes such as objective response rates, overall survival (OS), and event-free survival (EFS). This IRB-approved and published research provides valuable insights into the efficacy of these alternative therapeutic protocols in a pediatric oncology setting, specifically focusing on how these drug combinations impact survival outcomes in relapsed/refractory pediatric populations. The findings offer essential data to the oncology community for treating high-risk pediatric cancers.
  • Collected, arranged, and input information into the RedCap database system.

Student Research Lab Assistant

CHOP-RISES Internship Program
Philadelphia, PA
06.2023 - 08.2023
  • I participated in a 6-week intensive research internship working with Dr. Joseph Zackular’s lab studying the pathogenic bacteria Clostridium difficile, which is known as C. Diff, and how C. Diff interacts with the host, the gut microbiome, and other pathogenic bacteria that impact human health. I grow various bacteria, such as E. coli and Klebsiella pneumonia, on different agar plates and record the results. I also learned how to make agar, which is food for bacteria, and how to use various lab equipment, such as pipettes and Bunsen burners.
