I am a very hard working and dedicated person, I'm a great co-worker, and add a positive attitude to the working environment and to the community. I'm very determined to continue learning to add to the longevity of my career in Emergency Medical Services to be a better provider, co-worker, and person.
At Elmore Ambulance Service, Shifts consist of 48 hours and average about 13-18 calls throughout the duration of the shift. As a 911 transport agency, I assist my co workers in providing adequate care to the patient or the task at hand. We do provide inter facility transfers to monitor and take patients to a higher level of care. I use critical thinking and effective communication to be professional with co workers, patients, and other healthcare workers.
I respond to 911 calls in a 132 square miles from the Snake River to the Nevada Border line. I take patient vitals and do very detailed patient assessments. I prepare the patient and information to do a transfer of care to the other responding unit that will take over patient care and transport patient to the hospital.
I use every call as a learning experience and another way to improve or sharpen my skills as an emergency responder.
I love continuing my education in my field of work and find all the online videos and classes to gain more knowledge and experience to further help myself and my coworker.
As a senior project I was limited in some aspects of the job. Everything I was able to do like vital signs using tools/equipment, training. I would do it to the fullest and really make a mark with the crew and showed that I was serious and wanted to be there.
