Line Technician
Exec 1 Aviation
Ankeny, IA
08.2024 - Current
As a Line Technician at Exec 1 Aviation, some of the job responsibilities this company requires are parking planes correctly, keeping them organized on the ramp, towing aircraft when needed, operating fuel trucks and refueling aircraft upon the owner's request, cleaning and detailing the interiors of charter aircraft, putting in invoices for purchased fuel, cleaning and organizing the FBO, and providing customer service for clients. Line technicians also use safety practices, like having coworkers wing-walk while they pull aircraft from hangars, and chocking every aircraft that comes in and gets parked.
Another responsibility of line technicians is keeping the airport clear of F.O.D. By conducting hourly runway and taxi checks via truck, making sure that there are no possibilities of damage that could be caused to taxiing aircraft.
Sumping fuel every morning to check for patterns, making sure the fuel is particulate and water-free, and bulking the fuel trucks at the end of the night.
Retail Sales
Iowa Craft Beer Tent Merchandise at The Iowa State Fair
Des Moines, IA
08.2021 - Current
Over the last four summers, I have worked for the Iowa Craft Beer Tent at the Iowa State Fair for the ten days of the fair.
Some responsibilities of being a manager at the IACBT include setting up the shop for the fair, lifting the heavy racks on and off the trailer, setting up the cash register, and cleaning the trailer of dust and trash.
Some of the other responsibilities include stocking and folding the merchandise, making sure that there is never an empty rack, making the effort to look for a specific size or type of item in the back if it wasn't outside for customers, answering every question asked by customers, and overall just providing the best customer service.
As a closing manager, my responsibilities include getting all of the shirts and merchandise off the rack, and into the back of the stock trailer. Making sure the trailer was clean, assigning tasks to my coworker on what else needed to be done, locking all of the doors of the store trailer, and providing help to the rest of the team to speed up the closing process.
