My time as a crew member on a ten person handcrew has given me many opportunities to develop my knowledge, skills, abilities in fire, and fuels management in a high complexity unit. The many duties I have preformed are as follows:

• Checking crew rigs to ensure fire preparedness.
• Use and maintenance of fire line tools such as Pulaskis and chainsaws.
• Learning protocols and developing relationships between different agencies within COFMS.
• Performing prescribed burns utilizing drip torches, flares, and berry pistols.
• Performing suppression for initial attack wildfires by digging line, burning line, mobile attack using a UTV and type 6 engines.
• Patrolling and mopping up various wild and prescribed fires.
• working out of district or region on extended 14 to 21 day assignments.
• Rehabilitating the human foot print left from suppressing wildfires.

As an intern Firefighter my duties are to provide fire and rescue services to 136 square miles in northwest washington county, Oregon. Serving the communities of Banks, Buxton, and Timber. As an intern I assist with volunteer and career personnel to respond to more than 500 calls annually, ranging from cardiac emergencies, residential fire suppression, motor vehicle collisions and extrication, rope rescue, water rescue, and wild land fire suppression.

• Respond to basic/ advanced life support calls and provide exquisite customer service to patients experiencing medical emergencies.
• Properly deal with highly stressful incidents in a cool, calm, and smart manner to deal with each incident properly with the best intent to help each patient, victim, and patients families/victims.
• Properly and quickly suppress residential, commercial, and wildfires in the most safely and timely manner.
• Set up high/low angle rope rescue equipment, water rescue equipment, and properly stabilize/extricate patients out of heavily damaged vehicles with hydraulic tools.

My duties as an instructor include to teach youth and adults the game of Tennis. Make sure they know proper form for their forehand, backhand, serve, and volley. I also teach students strategies and different styles for students to develop their own unique game.

• I learned patience when teaching large groups ranging from ages 5-55 years.
• I also learned how to communicate, teach, and lead group exercises efficiently.
