I began my journey into crane operation right after High School I began by oiling for my father on August 20th 1987 at the Palace of Auburn Hills, a stadium where the Detroit Pistons played basketball ball
I’m a third generation Operating Engineer
I oiled for my father on several jobs as well as oiling for other people for about 4 years
I started operating on RTs
In 1999, I operated my first crawler crane A Manitowoc 3900W friction crane, unloading and loading trucks with steel in the lay down yard for the new power house in Dearborn Michigan I did that for about 8 months I then went on night shift running two different Manitowoc 4100Ws At the end of the job, one of the 4100Wd went into a ringer attachment I went back on the day shift and ran the ringer setting HRSG units weighing 150 tons for the Boilermakers as well as 2-81 ton steam drums for the Iron Workers
After this time, I operated countless crawler cranes, RTs, Brodersons and fork trucks
I’ve worked with most trades and always conduct myself in a professional manner
I strongly believe in teaching the next generation of Operating Engineers I’ve trained many young people in the safe and productive operation of cranes
