Summary
I graduated form Utica High School in 1993 after attending Jeannette Jr. High and Schuchard Elementary. I student taught with Mike Sekich at Stevenson High School and was hired that summer.
My focus and philosophy as a music educator is to promote instrumental music through structured rehearsals, promoting kindness, respect, leadership, and an appreciation for the arts.
I have learned many things from my administrators and colleagues and by regularly attending the Michigan Music Conference in Grand Rapids. I have been able to teach all levels in UCS, elementary, junior high, and high school. I have taught band at the secondary and elementary level, along with teaching general music for seven years. My 25 years of teaching experience in UCS has given me great insight into what is needed to have a successful program and department.

- I have had several students play in their college marching bands. Currently, six former UHS Band members serve as section leaders for their college marching bands, and one of my former students is one of the Drum Majors at Eastern Michigan University.
