At NRSS I work as a roadway worker in charge for local and distant railroad of all classes.
Roadway Worker In-Charge - As a RWIC, I provide protection for contractors working on railroad property that are working on or about the tracks.
Extensive reporting - Daily duties include taking pictures, filling out detailed digital reports and making sure proper procedures are followed.

As a CSX employee I have worked in every field of the Engineering department from a track worker all the way to a foreman. Of which I have planned and coordinated many work projects that included as many as 50+ people.
Trackman - Performed all basic duties, including, but not limited to; Pulling spikes, pounding spikes, changing rails, gauging track, installing cross ties and switch timbers. Walked many hundreds of miles behind large crosstie teams as the quality inspector.
Machine Operator - Performed inspections and basic repairs on many different types of machines, which are including but not limited to; Backhoe, excavator, railbound spike driver, railbound tie inserter/remover, railbound tie handler and regulators.
Foreman - Conducted thorough job briefings to make sure that everyone in our workgroup understood the safety aspects of each job, track protection, and tasks to be performed for each project. Qualifications include running a rule 707 (long term track protection), Rule 704 (short term track protection - EC-1). Other tasks include; qualifying younger employees in all aspects of a safe railroad environment, entering payroll information for my team, completing safety observations as a safety liaison to management. Headed up the installation of major projects including switch panel installation and multi-thousands of cross ties per day. Worked at many derailment and washout sites. Worked with and helped protect outside contractors during larger new track construction projects.
