Brian Flynn

Currently assigned as a Detective with the Criminal Investigations Unit. Maintained a high case load and able to equally address each of them with full dedication and thoroughness. Obtained numerous search warrants for various cases from property crimes to a homicide investigation. Have the ability to be resourceful, use all investigative tools, and also think outside the box.

Patrolled a high-crime area with a diverse community. Initiated numerous arrests using a proactive approach during traffic, patrol, and subject stops. Investigated multiple misdemeanor and felony cases by interviewing suspects, victims, and witnesses. Maintained relationships with business owners within my patrol district to improve care and trust between the police department and community businesses. Was a respected and reliable patrol team member. Member of the department firearms range cadre; drafted lesson plans and assisted with instruction.

Completed an apprentice program with the Northwest Carpenter's Union. Worked as a journeyman until given a foreman position with an assigned company vehicle and tools. Held a foreman position for four years with with a multitude of managerial responsibilities on small and large commercial projects. Assisted in training apprentices, sharing knowledge of experiences and best practices. Implemented time and solid work practices to ensure project deadlines were met. Maintained healthy relationships with job site project managers and other contractors to support project success.

Constructed obstacles and defensive positions using heavy machinery. Cleared routes using live demolition charges and firing systems. Learned the importance of self-discipline, integrity, and working as a team member. Attained the rank of Sergeant (E-5) and held supervisory roles as a team and squad leader. Deployed to Bosnia for Operation Joint Endeavor for nearly one year. Received numerous meritorious medals throughout military service. Service concluded with Honorable Discharge.
