Was promoted to a corporal while working in District 2. Currently the Lieutenant of the District 4 Seymour office where I've held that position for nearly thirteen(13) years. Direct and lead operations. Responsible for policing nineteen(19) counties in Southeast Indiana. Leads/manages all law enforcement staff and functions. Maintains a community policing type model with the business owners to ensure compliance with the Indiana criminal and administrative code. Develop partnerships with other jurisdictions including state, federal, local, and universities. Cultivate positive community relations and serve as a liaison with local municipal agencies and courts. Build excellent rapport and working relationship with local municipalities, state legislators, and community organizations. Handle inquiries and complaints related to police officers and department procedures. Directs and/or performs criminal/administrative investigatory work. Works assigned jurisdiction on foot or in police vehicle to serve citizens and enforce criminal laws and alcoholic beverage and tobacco laws and rules. Works around a diverse campus and area. Works in partnership with subordinate and supervisors to solve problems. Performs various other related police administrative and law enforcement duties. Served two four year terms as a council member. Re-appointed in 2/2010 and resigned 7/2011 due to re-locating to Southern Indiana. Served as president for approximately two years. Responsible for managing a budget of approximately $5.3 million dollars that included utilities. Participated in the process of a sewer plant upgrade and replaced aging water lines throughout the town. Actively worked with the Chamber of Commerce and the Ossian Development Corporation to bring businesses/jobs to the shovel ready industrial park. Responsible for hiring a town manager and a police chief. Set policy. Applied for grants to be fiscally responsible. Responded to citizen complaints and worked with the town manager and council to find viable solutions. Responded to news media requests. Addressed numerous administrative issues.
