I served as a Sr. Specialist for the Shenandoah Packaging Department. The Sr. Specialist is role consist of the following job responsibilities:
Coordinates and coach operational teams to ensure high quality products are produced safely and cost effectively through maximizing efficiency.
Coaches the WCSC 2.0 principles and best practices to drive performance through processes and continued improvement.
Coaches team members in the areas of technical and WCSC 2.0 capability.
Coach teams to make sound decisions in all performance aspects of day-to-day operations.
Operate as the key shift coordinator during off-shift hours coordinating within the unit and collaborating with upstream and downstream processes to drive efficiency and alignment across the brewery.
Ensure safe practices and policies are followed by team members.
Demonstrate commitment to safety through participation in and support of safety initiatives.
Partner with team and safety council members to identify and highlight unsafe work practices and escalate/correct with a sense of urgency.
Operate equipment, set-up operator level maintenance, and have competency on all equipment operated by the team.
Coordinate resources and coach team to interface with Quality, Asset Care, and other brewery partners.
Coordinate proper coverage for shifts across lines, units, and departments.
Facilitate flow of work.
Ensure inter/intradepartmental communication across the shifts.
Review production schedule for changes and coach the team in response to schedule changes; communicate changes to teams across the brewery.
Coordinate beer and materials availability as needed.
Follow proper escalation procedures to Line Leaders and resource teams.
Coordinate changeovers per SOPs and standards.
Coordinate and coach on end of runs, including cuts according to standards and coordination with beer flow.
Escalate and communicate via the structured communications process.
Coach teams on effective shift handovers.
Responsible for maintaining schedules and ensuring accurate employee reporting of absences, accrued time, and scheduled time within the Kronos timekeeping system.
Ensure escalation practices/agreements are followed.
Partner with Process Leader and training specialist to implement training plans.
Onboard new team members according to the standard onboarding process.
Coach team to adhere to operational, quality, and process standards for start-ups, shutdowns, sanitation, sterilization, changeovers, and maintenance days.
Support and coach team members to consistently monitor performance, recordings, and to take appropriate measures and corrective actions as necessary.
Coach team on the importance of adhering to published schedules and revise schedules as required to maximize efficient use of equipment while meeting production requirements.
Support and coach team to carry out operator maintenance tasks and required running repairs.
Mentor and coach team members on operator-based maintenance and maintenance-based operations ensuring support of the maintenance team members.
Provide feedback when appropriate to maintenance planning meetings.
Have multiple years of filler and packaging equipment as an operator
Experienced in running cleaning sequences (CIP and SIP's)
Basic Qualifications:
You have a high school diploma or equivalent
Proficient in SAP system
Proficient in MS Office
Knowledge in WSCS 2.0, GMPs, Safe Food Practices, and Safety
Demonstrated leadership skills
Good communication skills
