• Performed cashier duties such as taking orders, collecting payments and providing change.

I wasn't working as an employer, I was more so doing an externship at this clinic for more hands on experience in the vet medicine field, it was required from my school that i go to a clinic and experience what its like in a clinic and the important role I have as a future CVA. I assisted in many things such as,

• Cleaned and sterilized exam rooms between appointments.
• Gathered specimens such as urine, blood and fecal samples for laboratory analysis.
• Prepared laboratory slides for microscopic examinations.
• Restrained animals during examination or treatment procedures using appropriate techniques according to species size and temperament.
• Monitored vital signs of hospitalized animals including temperature, pulse rate, respiration rate and other parameters as necessary.
• Ensured that cages were kept clean at all times.
• Sterilized and maintained veterinary care instruments and equipment.
• Scrubbed, counted and packed surgical instruments and drapes for autoclave sterilization.
• Obtained information and history from clients to maintain medical charts.
