• Ensuring Chemistry department is following CAP guidelines by following a yearly calendar. Tasks to include: six month AMR, Instrument Comparability, Calibration Verification, and Qualitative Cutoff.
• Prepare, assign, review, and submit CAP surveys. Once surveys are evaluated, responsible for evaluating acceptability.
• Observe techs yearly for Competency. Prepare blind samples and quiz questions to assess competency.
• Train new employees in all departments of the main laboratory to include: Urinalysis, Chemistry, Coagulation, and Hematology.
• Perform biannual self inspections of other laboratories.
• Assist in biannual CAP inspections within the Chemistry department. Ensure CAP cross walk is up to date in preparation for CAP arrival.

Started MLS career at Upper Valley Medical Center May 2020-April 2021. At this location I was responsible for:

• Performing routine Cobas 6000 maintenance and quality control.
• Processing and loading patient specimens appropriately.
• Preparing send out specimens to reference laboratory.
• Lot to lot verification and quality control overlaps.
• Ensuring proper blood gas collection prior to sampling on Radiometer ABL.

April 2021-December 2022 Transitioned to position at Miami Valley Hospital. In this role I was trained in Chemsitry, Coagulation, Urinalysis, and Hematology.

• Perform daily and weekly maintenance on Stago, Sysmex, Iris, Arkray, Cobas Pro, ABL 90, & OsmoPro.
• Daily Qcette maintenance on Fetal Fibronectin analyzer as well as monthly wet QC.
• In the Chemistry department responsible for various tasks such as: lot to lot verification, quality control lot overlaps, resulting CAP specimens, and patient result verification.

Dual role performing specimen collection and specimen processing.

• Ensure stat, timed, and routine specimens are collected within the hospital efficiently.
• Performed proper patient identification and order of draw.
• Collected 5-10 patients an hour during morning run.
• Received specimens into the laboratory and processed for Med Tech to perform analysis on.
