Scope Of Duties:
- Assists the Registered Nurse in the practice of professional nursing by providing direct patient care to promote patient comfort.
- Assists the Registered Nurse with the patient's activities of daily living according to the needs of the patient's in a timely manner.
- Accurately observes and reports to the Registered Nurse all patient concerns, symptoms, reactions, and progress in a timely manner.
- Accurately obtains and records vital signs to include BP, HR, and respirations.
- Accurately obtains and records blood glucose readings for patients.
- Educate self effectively and assists in peer education. Seeks educational opportunities to increase competence.
- Attends staff meetings.
- Assist the Registered Nurse with indirect care by maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment to prevent and/or control infections and to provide for safety of patients, visitors, and employees.
- May act in a role of a sitter for a patient as assigned by the Registered Nurse.
- Other related duties as assigned.
