A circulating nurse, also known as a perioperative nurse, is a registered nurse who works in an operating room (OR) to assist surgeons and other healthcare professionals during surgical procedures. Their main responsibility is to ensure the patient's safety and well-being. They work outside the sterile field of the OR and may take on multiple roles depending on the needs of the medical staff.

As an neuro pcu nurse I specialized in caring for patients with neurological conditions and disorders. I worked with patients to help them recover from or learn to manage their conditions, which can include brain injuries, strokes, seizures, and neurodegenerative diseases.
On the medical surgical/Telemetry floor I was responsible for general patients along with patients needing monitoring of their heart. One of my focused responsibilities was to quickly respond to any life-threatening changes in a patient's heart rhythm or vital signs.
