Work History

At Carter co We farm 2700 acres and run 1700 head of cattle with 5 employees. With only having 5 employees i’ve learned how important it is to always show up and do your job and do it well. On the farming side of things here i’ve learned to work on and maintain all sorts of equipment rather it’s tractors, implements, trucks or semi’s. I’m typically in some sort of heavy equipment each day wether it’s a loader, wheel/RT tractor, bulldozer, spud trucks or semi’s. The ranching side of things, i’d always done livestock my whole life. At Carter co with my previous experience with it i was promoted to running this side of things and doing the operation the way i wanted to and in the best way possible. With livestock you learn it doesn’t matter the temperature or weather or day, You have to show up and get the job done wether calf’s are being born or they need to be moved or fed and watered they have to have it everyday wether you want to or not. We worked cattle all winter in the negative temperatures. Breaking ice multiple times a day so they can water and trailing and hauling them to different pastures in the snow.

Cordingley Horse Company is a Family ran operation that we have built over the years that at the start i would always help my father and dad with. Especially hay season when we farmed our own hay i learned a lot about working and fixing the farm equipment and improvising with what we had to get the job done. With my father passing on I started training and taking care of 130 head of horses with just my grandpas help. I work my other job and do this one with the spare time whether that’s in the dark or the one day i have off. This job has taught me a lot about self improvement and how working on something everyday you get better at it and learn more and create a passion for it.
