This is type of job is something called an “outage” at either a nuclear plant or a chemical plant. These typically happen 1-2 times a year and last no longer than 3 months. This position ensures safety, tracking foreign materials, and also protecting an “FME” Zone. My tasks were to label, lanyard and number each individual tool. This was to ensure we kept track of every tool and lanyard. The reasoning for keeping track of these tools is because one screw could ruin an entire rotor in a nuclear plant and cause a gas leak to the entire city. I kept track of everything and everyone through a computer, checking in and out when someone comes in or out of a foreign material zone. I also had to maintain a happy and helpful presence in high stressful situations no matter what. I learned about the chain of command and also the importance behind keeping a maintained environment.

Dog Boarding is like “Dog sitting” except in a facility. This specific job was at a veterinary clinic.

Some Task i succeed were, helping the parents feel comfortable leaving their dogs/cats in my care for a short or long amount of time, cleaning multiple kennels at once, taking dogs/cats out and also going each animal my undivided attention. I also helped out in the veterinary clinic by cleaning and sterilizing tools, helping with surgery prep, and also making phone calls to update parents about the animals condition after surgery or after an appointment in general.
