As a care companion, I would monitor patients receiving treatment. I would watch patients who are a fall risk, at risk of removing adaptive tube & lines, as well as patients categorized as elopement risks.

I would keep an up to date daily census of patients to maintain accurate record keeping.

I was responsible to alert medical staff should a patient consume foreign objects ( unauthorized medicines, alcohol, tobacco, etc)

As a direct support Professional, I would advocate for individuals with developmental disabilities in a variety of day to day life choices.

I would assist individuals with making healthy choices with their diets. I would emphasize the importance of cleanliness with their homes & laundry. I would work with individuals on money management to help them be satisfied with personal purchases and activities they wanted to attend.

I would regularly double check lists to guarantee compliance with state guidelines. I would attend meetings to discuss individual's progress.

I would complete fire drills quarterly with emphasis on RACE & PASS.

Every two years, I would complete CPR training to maintain certification.
